Song of the Day: I Remember Clifford, composed by saxophonist Benny Golson, is an ode to jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown who died tragically at the age of 25 on this date in 1956. First recorded by Donald Byrd and Gigi Gryce, the song has become a jazz standard. Brown was an extraordinary musician who recorded with so many jazz greats, from Sarah Vaughan to The Jazz Messengers.
