Song of the Day: Pensativa was composed by jazz pianist and arranger Clare Fischer, who was born on this date in 1928. Fischer later added lyrics to this bossa nova jazz standard, which has been recorded by various vocalists. The original recording features Fischer and saxophonist Bud Shank from the 1962 album “Bossa Nova Jazz Samba.” Check out that version and a vocal rendition by Kaz Simmons [YouTube links].
