Song of the Day #2302

Song of the Day: The Hungry Years, music by Neil Sedaka, words by Howard Greenfield, was the title track to Sedaka’s 1975 album. It was one of Sedaka’s most requested non-single tracks. The song was also recorded by Engelbert Humperdinck for his 1976 album, “After the Lovin’“, and is widely considered one of the centerpieces of the artist’s career. Mom loved his rendition. Today, Humperdinck, who borrowed his stage name from the 19th century German composer, turns 90 years old.
