Song of the Day: Master of Puppets features the music and words of Cliff Burton, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and James Hetfield, from the band Metallica. This thrash metal classic is the title track from the band’s third album, released in 1986, 40 years ago today! Sadly, this was the final album on which Cliff Burton played bass; he died in a tour bus crash a little more than six months after this album’s release.
