Song of the Day: Godzilla Minus One (“Soundtrack Suite”) includes interpretations of the famous Godzilla theme by Akira Ifukube, along with original music by Naoki Sato. Though I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the original “Gojira” (1954) and its edited 1956 American version featuring Raymond Burr, this 2023 film is, for me, the definitive Godzilla film in a franchise that includes 38 films to date. I realize that Godzilla is slightly larger than the Groundhog, but their names both start with “G”! So, Happy Groundhog Day! There’s another “G” in contention tonight: The 67th Annual Grammy Awards! And, FWIW, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicts six more weeks of winter. Staten Island Chuck disagrees!
