Song of the Day: The Rains of Ranchipur (“Main Title”) [YouTube link], composed by Hugo Friedofer, opens this 1955 remake of the 1939 film, “The Rains Came.” This film, starring Lana Turner, Richard Burton, Fred MacMurray, and Michael Rennie, has had its share of criticisms, but it features fine cinematograhy, Oscar-nominated special visual effects, and a wonderful Friedhofer score.
