Song of the Day: Where are the Words, words and music by Frank Severino, appears on “It Takes a Whole Lot of Human Feeling,” a 1973 album by jazz vocalist Carmen McRae (on which Severino appears as drummer). It has often been said that McRae could give a master class on the art of delivering lyrics. On this date in 1920, McRae was born in Harlem. And on this track, McRae is accompanied by master guitar soloist Joe Pass. Check out this intimate recording [YouTube link].
