Song of the Day: Bob Dylan’s Christmas Waltz [YouTube link], composed and performed by Hayden Jones, offers a lovely melody that I have used as the backdrop for a mini-slideshow of this year’s necessarily scaled-down Christmas decorations for my apartment. I have to thank my friend Ryan Neugebauer for introducing me to Hayden’s music. Hayden tells us on Spotify that he’s a “self-proclaimed prince of the Houston underworld.” As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Hayden has not only written some wonderful original compositions; he has delivered sweet renditions of standards from the Great American Songbook. (But don’t ask him why Bob Dylan‘s name is in the title of this song!) It’s already Christmas Day in various parts of the world. I want to wish my family and friends a very Merry Christmas! And don’t forget to track Santa on NORAD tonight!
