Song of the Day: Victor/Victoria (“Le Jazz Hot”), music by Henry Mancini, lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, is one of the highlights of the 1982 film, starring Julie Andrews in the hilarious gender-bending title role. Through the years, I have featured so many songs by Andrews, from her Broadway triumph, “My Fair Lady” to “Mary Poppins” and “The Sound of Music” (a film I’ve absolutely adored ever since I first saw it at the age of 5). Today, Julie Andrews turns 90! Sadly, a botched surgery in 1997 severely impacted the artist’s ability to sing. Happily, her recordings and films will live on with the sound of music.
