Song of the Day: The Penguin (“So Long My Love”), words and music by Sammy Cahn and Lew Spense, is sung by the legendary Sarah Vaughan as source music for Episode 4 (Cent’ anni) of this brilliant, if brutal, crime drama miniseries, starring a superb Colin Farrell in the title role. Last week, the series won eight awards in the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including one for Original Dramatic Score (which went to Mick Giacchino). Tonight, the series is up for another seven statuettes in the Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and nods to both Farrell and Cristin Milioti in the lead acting categories.
