Song of the Day: Mediterranean Sundance [YouTube link], composed by jazz fusion guitarist Al Di Meola, appeared on the artist’s second album, “Elegant Gyspy” (1977). This lovely acoustic duet with flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia is a testament to the broad character of Di Meola’s fusion, which embraces elements of jazz, classical, rock, Latin, and world music. Today, Di Meola turns 71! Play on!
