Song of the Day: Corean Fantasy [YouTube link], composed by Johnnie Christopher McDonald, appears on the 2024 album, “It’s About Time.” This instrumental, performed by The Chris McDonald Jazz Orchestra, is a paean to the great Chick Corea, who was born on June 12, 1941, and who left us much too early in 2021 at the age of 79. I loved Chick’s music so deeply, and this track captures the Corean Spirit. It also features a wonderful trombone solo by my dear friend Roger Bissell, whose birthday is today! Happy Birthday, Roger!
