Today is Wednesday, April 24, 2024. I have often observed that I was born in Brooklyn’s Methodist Hospital on a Wednesday—February 17, 1960. And on a Wednesday—April 24, 1974, I was ‘born again’ in that same hospital.
In my newest “Medium” article, I tell the story of my struggles with Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome. The article is a ten-minute read. While writing this article has had cathartic value, it was also my intention to raise awareness for this rare congenital disorder. A half century ago on this date, surgery saved my life.
